A little pointless, yes, but still… So I use a couple themes on my iGoogle page because I got bored easily, and lately I’ve been using the “puppy” theme.

Yes, these little canines put a smile on my face when I open my browser; you have a problem with that?

And today’s little rascal is so adorable I’m inclined to make a screenshot out of it.

If you eat with your eyes, then just by browsing the website you’ll be full for a couple of weeks.

The Chicago restaurant seems to be quite famous for their “high-tech” cuisine whatever that means; but if you want to inquire more, the owner wrote a book titled the same name too.

But, man, check out their website for sure though… especially the food gallery… good gawd……

I forgot to post… I went to Oktoberfest 2 weekends ago… and it was a blast :)

Here’s some of the selected “PG-rated” pictures :D (it has some pics from Stratford since we visited it before hitting Oktoberfest. Pretty. I like Stratford.)

Once upon a time in the land of flat-panel, in the city of HDTV, there were 2 different types of people… the plasma and the LCD. The plasma’s are the originals; the founding race of the whole land. They were deemed as the elder, the wise; their contrast and quality are superior to LCD. The LCD is a fairly younger race, yet they grow and evolve in leaps and bounds. Their biggest evolution are their raw size, availability, and price. The plasma’s realize this, and thus after what seems to be such short age, the LCD’s reign seems to inherit the country. Regardless, all is well. Evolution takes it place.

On one given day a few months ago, a new type of species were born… they were the OLED’s….

The OLED are an elite, beautiful, superior race to both LCD and Plasma, yet due to their small size (and slim thickness) and absurd price; their turn to reign the country are still nowhere in the foreseeable future. They are rarely seen in the streets of HDTV-city, and seems to be spending secretly a lot of time researching the evolution of their race.

Suddenly… one day, a beautiful entity was seen across the Internet sea. It has brilliant contrast, ultra-slim physique, great angle and world-class colour… the fruit of countless hours of the OLED engineers… a glimpse of the future of OLED…..

BEHOLD!!

There’s a bunch of previews in the net regarding Windows 7 and they ALL looks promising… but isn’t that the same thing when Vista was the hype? Matter of fact, isn’t that always the thing when new products are introduced? A hype is built up and we all got dissapointed when it got delivered.

Ok, maybe not all, but most. I’m just saying, it’s very common that new things oftenly pushed the bar higher on the level of expectation, and even more often that the finished product failed to achieve such expectation.

But you know what’s funny? The fact that humans kept doing the exactly same thing over and over again in all recorded history.

I won’t go into the whole psychological crap (due to the fact I’m currently in the office), I guess I just want to say “here we go again… I think Windows 7 will be a great product and I will buy it when it’s out!”

And I actually will. You can count on it.

Here’s the latest review I just read this morning: Gizmodo explains. It’s short, sweet, and downright makin me giddy!

The game. An absolute riot. An amazing experience. And that’s an understatement. I’ve been playing this for a while and after burning hours on ends on this game, I would have to say it’s one of the most geniusly-designed game I’ve ever played.

Don’t trust me? Interested? Here’s 2 reviews you can read… Eurogamer and RPS

Want to see it in action?

Do yourself a favour. Play this game.

So I just watched Pineapple Express the other day… and I have to say that is one very very funny movie. Note that if the viewer, may it be you or anybody else, has experienced intoxication by marijuana…. it suddenly becomes one of the funnies movie you’ve ever seen.

A little google, and I found Seth Rogen’s next film: Zack and Miri make a Porno. :D I had my doubt, but after checking the trailer, I believe I will try to catch this movie as well.

Definitely worth your $$ *thumbs up*

(hell, I love action/adventure and I don’t think Indiana Jones worth my $$…)(Dark Knight was worth it though)

Tom’s Hardware posted some review of the development of video graphics in the gaming technology, explaining a few technical terms in layman, and even have a bunch of comparison screenshots. Old gamer might reminescent a couple screens, and newbies can learn a thing or two about the graphic industry.

I only found books that are of interest to me less than a handful in a year, yet in a couple days I found 2 great books. On top of the piracy book on my post yesterday, here’s another that sparks an interest to me.

Here’s the review by Ars-technica.

…are schweeeeeet!

First of, Asus went away and pointed out Windows 7-based (I tend to call it Vista Second Edition) version of their famous Eee-PC line are coming next year and it will come with a touchscreen. I’ve always wanted to get one of those “netbook-category” computers and seems like waiting for next year doesn’t seem like a bad idea. FYI, a “netbook” is like a mini-laptop. It tends to have smaller screen (usually between 10-12, sometimes 13″) and have less processing power due to the hardware configuration that needs to fit in a small form factor. On the upside, it’s small, it’s light, it (generally) last longer in terms of battery life, and it pretty much can do all basic computer.

Asus’ CEO, Jerry Shen, has the best definition I’ve seen yet: “Shen describes the netbook as a platform to consume content whereas a laptop is for creating content”.

On other news, in the past few years some “hardcore” overclocking communities tried to use oil-based liquid to cool down components. This pretty much translates to dunking the whole thing in an oil-tank…

Well guess what, now it’s available for the masses… naturally, it will cost you all of your unborn child, a couple limbs, and that new car you’ve been bragging to the neighbours… plus the performance score aren’t exactly exceptional and would be hard to justify the dollar for the performance….

…but…

oh…my…. GAWD……….. isn’t that thing SEXY OR WHAT?????????

Oh, please, do check out the full article for more (very) pretty screenshots…..
