Yes, it’s affecting the IT industry as well, more than I’d expect. I can understand where the overall economy balance is out of whack globally, then the technology industry would not escape unharmed. Over the past few months, I’ve heard here and there, IT giants such as Sony was cutting off some employees, gaming industry giant EA was ‘restructuring’ their workforce, and so on. But even closer to Christmas (ironically), the number of hits are increasing wildly.

More companies in the gaming industry are doing job cuts in the big numbers, and some just downright closes down. ABIT was the last to hit, as as of the end of the year the company will cease to exist. Western Digital, a hard-drive manufacturer top leader is cutting off 2,500 employees. It just went to show that not only the big companies with their huge asset management are taking the hits… in a nutshell, it’s everybody!

Truth be told, now I’m starting to worry about my job too lol… Something that felt so far (big companies in big major cities in big countries) are now starting to creep closer to home. Something that was more on the spotlight of the industry are now drilling down lower to smaller, and all, corporations.

Well, then, I guess I should stop posting blogs at work :p
