and this is actually pretty good too….. hmmmm
Really?
Well, it just might.
Not alot of people know about the Conficker. It’s a 3rd generation worm that easily propagate through basic network and able to enable remote-control by an unauthorized user. On top of that, it has a time-bomb of receiving further instruction and execute them on April 1st, 2009.
The real issue, however, is the fact that it is known already to infect millions of Windows-based system in the world, making it a close runner-up to the infamous Blaster worm.
So, what is the real risk? What can you do to prevent it? What do you think is going to happen?

Furthermore, if you’re in the IT field, I recommend you google the word ‘conficker’ and start reading.

Well here’s something interesting for the future of gaming………….
Them Japanese are crazy…. and I love them for it. It’s so much fun! Here’s a couple excerpt from TokyoMango.com, one of my favourite wonky japanese blog…

Now if I’m going to build a toilet in my house…………………
Would you like to stop by my tea-house? (do check the link for lots more pictures)
More strange (but awesomely-beautiful) house by the same architect (do check the link for lots more pictures)
Shower cap for men to make hair grows back. No, seriously, click on the picture… (link is in Japanese, but still fun to see)(and to prove I’m not kidding!)
If you think Crysis is good, guess what they got for you in store later this year………..
Check it out! Basic, basic… from Dreamlinestudio.com. Nice, simple tutorial for beginners
Do you use Microsoft Outlook?
If yes, then you owe it to yourself to install Xobni plugin. Especially when you have a gazillion emails and you dont think Outlook is doing a good enough job to manage it for you.
At least give it a try.
I loved it. Finding emails (and this can be much more complicated than it sounds) is never easier. I actually didn’t think it’s possible to be this easy. Heck, sometimes it’s even too easy!
Ever since I installed it in the office, I lost count of how many times I heard somebody whispered “Xobni has done it again!”
It’s all about the law… which, I’ll keep this one short… are rules really meant to be broken? Don’t simply take it as just another quote from some classic b-movie, yet try to comprehend both the psychology perspective of “rules” and our history. Are rules really there to protect us? From who? Ourselves? And where would one draw the circle line of “the greater good”? Though there’s never been (and IMHO can never be) a cookie-cutter answer to this dillema, I believe one should start with trying to answer it for oneself before trying to imply their perspective to others.
Anyhow, links to the news;

I mean, come on, RIAA… there should always be a fine line between upholding YOUR own rules and prejudice and trying to create a sacrificial lamb as an example to others. The background story is the last decade or so, the recording industry has been fighting a war… a losing one nonetheless. And the above story is an example of collateral casualties.

So x86 is the most stable and trusted IC architecture for the last half a century, and somewhere along the line, AMD and Intel shake hands and went…
Intel: Dude, I found a cool method to develop processors… it’s called x86.
AMD: Raaad, dewd! Say, lemme see. …Nice… but you know what, this would be best implemented this way.
Intel: No way man, THIS is the way to go. This shit gonna sell like hotcakes, bro’!
AMD: lol wutever man, tell you what. I’ll make it my way, you make it your way, we’ll see who’s the millionare in the next few years.
Intel: You’re on!
/*insert decades of x86-based CPU architecture with no clear winner*/
Intel: Hey dude… take 5. I gotta say something.
AMD: Fine. Wadaya want?
Intel: Remember when I told you I came up with x86?
AMD: Yeah?
Intel: Well…. it IS theoritically, MY finding…
AMD: Well yeah, but we agreed we’ll use it TOGETHER, just different ways of designing the final shape. But it’s the same “material”.
Intel: Doesn’t matter, man. I’m suing you coz you’re using MY stuff…
AMD: …….after all this year? You…*
Intel: …and it’s gonna be expensive…
Well, since I am getting married and my better half does consider me as a full-fledge Geek… this article should be interesting…

You ever watch those cartoon where a toon is holding and eating a big piece of meat on a bone? Ever drool yourself from one of those juicy stuff?
Now you won’t have to anymore!

…one that can enslave us in the future.
Ok, maybe not. But it’s still an interesting idea. A new kind of search engine is being researched by one of best mathmetician of our time, Stephen Wolfram. It’s called the “Wolfram”… duh.
So what’s so special? You can read the whole article through the link below, but in an essence it is a smart search engine. One that understand everyday language (English only so far) and able to calculate a single precise answer. So instead of Google-ing “bahama vacation cruise package”, you can type “what’s the best deal for a bahama cruise?”, and instead of giving you thousands of possible results, it will calculate based on your history and/or location etc, and give you exactly what you asked – the best deal for a bahama cruise.
It’s like a search engine with an AI.
