More enhanced AI in our computers, our home, our cars, and so on…. I, for one, will actually embrace our robot overlords with open arms…

AI in the gaming industry is one of the most basic form of AI found, but that’s not to say a basic form can’t have a (very) complex augmentation. It’s like saying a tweaked 4-cyl Honda can outrun a v8 Porsche. It’s possible and it’s wise not to underestimate it.

As mentioned in the beginning of the article, a true AI requires a remarkable number of CPU and some ridicolous amount of memory as it require to compute more than a decision-making-path-finding obstacles, it need to LEARN and improve it’s logic thinking. Basic AI in games are more “static”, as it doesn’t learn new ways. It may simulate learning, but it’s not true learning, as it’s only branching out to another set of path-tree instead of assimilating the current values as it learn. Again, it can still be complex by substituting the values from an action to a goal… but I’ll leave you with this article I found. It’s a great read if you’re into these stuff :)

Actually, although I’m very impressed with the technology and future possibilities for blind people everywhere (the one disability I personally fear the most), I had to chuckle at one of the comment at Gizmodo site. But first, here’s the full article link:

And here’s the comment I’m talking about…

I want one :) Standing 6″ tall, they’re under $10 in Walmart, but the trick is finding the one you want. I want the Logan (Wolverine) one (removable hat), but the Hulk looks so adorable… and I am a Star Wars fan too…. ugh… choices, choices…

Oh look! A Vader one, naturally…

And look at Chewbacca… so happy…
